A long-awaited Talvisovat new album "Hyvastit Karjala" ("Goodbye, Karelia") has finally been released in Finland!

The production of the album turned out to be Russian-Finnish: the recording of tracks took place in "Dream factory" record studio in Petrozavodsk in the end of 2002, where the initial stage of mixing & mastering process started as well in January 2003. Teemu Korpipaa, who works in several famous record studios of Helsinki (Finland) was invited for mixing and mastering of the album. The final stage of the mastering process was completed in Finland, where the new album came into the world.

The album comprises 11 tracks: some of them are already familiar to the admirers of Talvisovat band, some are new songs.

The promotion agency Hot Igloo with Jyrki Raatikainen was responsible for the album release. The album has already appeared in the stores of Finland. In Petrozavodsk you can purchase the CD-album in the nearest future. It is suggested that it will appear in Petrozavodsk stores during April 2003. For further questions please call:

New album mixing & mastering process starts January 20th, 2003

January 20th, 2003 - Talvisovat starts its new album recording process in "Dream Factory" record studio (Petrozavodsk, Karelia). The major work has already been done in autumn, 2002.

In summer 2002 Talvisovat started cooperation with the Finnish recording company Hot Igloo. The new Talvisovat album will be released in March 2003 by this company in Finland.

From the 4th till the 6th of November the camera crew of TV1 of Finland under the direction of the editor Arvo Tuominen has visited Petrozavodsk. Santtu Karhu & Talvisovat will be the heroes of a new film of the Finish Yleisradio. The documentary will also tell about history, literature and music of Karelia. The picture-taking process was started at the festival Faces last summer and then was continued in Petrozavodsk, Krasny Bor, and on the Kizhi island.

Quite a long film about Talvisovat is being made in Finland for the second time. The first one, Punalippurock , was made in autumn 1990 and shown on MTV3 channel.
